After 35 years, the cast of ‘A Different World’ reunites for an HBCU tour aiming to boost enrollment and fund scholarships. The spin-off of ‘The Cosby Show’ followed Denise Huxtable at Hillman College, a fictional HBCU. The ‘A Different World HBCU College Tour 2024’ began at the Atlanta University Center, visiting Spelman, Clark Atlanta, and Morehouse. Cast members include Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, and others, organized by Darryl Bell, who played Ron Johnson. Bell emphasized the show’s impact on HBCU attendance and the importance of these institutions for Black students. The tour will also visit Howard University, Alabama State University, and Tuskegee University, offering seminars on financial literacy and voter registration drives. While aiming to raise $1 million in scholarship funds, the tour seeks to inspire future generations to support HBCUs.
